Tropical Storm HIDAYA has developed over the Southwestern Indian Ocean basin and has recorded maximum sustained surface winds above 74 km/h (40 knots), gusting at 102 km/h (55 knots) and with a minimum sea-level pressure estimated to be near 995 hPa. The tropical system is currently expected to directly affect Tanzania and indirectly affect Comoros and Mozambique. Tropical storm HIDAYA is projected to make landfall over the southern coast of Tanzania overnight on 03 May 2024.
