A Tropical Cyclone has developed over the South West Indian Ocean and has recorded winds speeds of 65 km/h gusting to 80 km/h. The tropical system is named Tropical Cyclone FILIPO expected to make landfall over east coastal areas of central Mozambique between 11 and 12 March 2024. It is further expected to move southwards as a land storm and indirectly affect parts of Eswatini and South Africa. It will move back into the Indian Ocean waters where it will south into the extra-tropics where it will become an extra tropical storm.
