A Tropical Depression named 02 has developed over the South West Indian Ocean and has recorded winds speeds of 65 km/h gusting to 80 km/h. At 1200 hours Greenwich Meridian Time (GMT), it was located at 13.3 degrees South and 56.6 degrees East (about 760km east of Madagascar) while moving south-westward at a speed of 15 km/h. The tropical system is projected to become a tropical cyclone in the next three (3) days and will be called Tropical Cyclone BELAL

The SADC Secretariat through the SADC Climate Services Centre is convening the Twenty Eighth Southern African Regional Climate Outlook Forum (SARCOF-28) to be held Maputo, Mozambique, from 29 - 31 January 2024 under the theme: “The Future of Climate, and Water Across Generations of the SADC region”. A Climate Experts Meeting will precede this forum from 22 - 28 January 2024. SARCOF-28 is organized with funding from the Intra-African Caribbean Pacific (Intra-ACP) Climate Services and related Applications (ClimSA) Programme funded by the 11th European Development Fund (EDF), and other partners. STATEMENT FROM THE TWENTY-SIXTH VIRTUAL SOUTHERN AFRICA REGIONAL CLIMATE OUTLOOK FORUM (SARCOF-26)  

The Twenty-sixth Annual Southern Africa Regional Climate Outlook Forum (SARCOF-26) was convened virtually, from 24th to 26th August 2022 to present a consensus outlook for the 2022/2023 rainfall season over the SADC region.  Before the forum, Climate Experts Meeting aimed at building capacity of Climate Experts from Member States on the 15-23 August 2022 to formulate this Outlook.

STATEMENT FROM THE TWENTY-SEVENTH SOUTHERN AFRICA REGIONAL CLIMATE OUTLOOK FORUM (SARCOF-27)  

The Twenty-Seventh Annual Southern Africa Regional Climate Outlook Forum (SARCOF-27) was convened in Port Louis, Mauritius, from 26th to 28th September 2023 to present a consensus outlook for the 2023/2024 rainfall season over the SADC region.  Before the forum, there was a Climate Experts Meeting aimed at building capacity of Climate Experts from National Meteorological and Hydrological Services of SADC Member States on the 18-25 September 2023 to formulate this Outlook.

The Twenty fifth Annual Southern Africa Regional Climate Outlook Forum (SARCOF-25) 

The Twenty fifth Annual Southern Africa Regional Climate Outlook Forum (SARCOF-25) was hosted by Malawi virtually, from 30th to 31st August 2018 to present a consensus outlook for the 2021/2022 rainfall season over the SADC region.  Before the forum, Climate Experts Meeting aimed at building capacity of Climate Experts from Member States on the 16-27 August 2021 to formulate this Outlook.
